I didn't say that in the post, but when I was looking at this data last night, I sent a graph to a friend and said, "Remind me: When did election season start? And when was the Dobbs decision leaked?" (FWIW, I think the Dobbs leak could have been either political party, assuming it was politically-motivated.)
Had to delete my comment because it was actually incorrect. Last Covid death ruled COD in autopsy was over a month ago, 10/13. That being said though, a LOT of deaths are currently marked as “DEFFERED”.
Well, looking at the dashboard, it is odd that there's no explanation of the jurisdiction switch. The state's declared emergency was still in place in April. I'm seeing 640 deaths this year, out of 15,372 since the start of 2022. Most of the 640 in January; 41 deaths from March onward.
Maybe it’s just me but it looks like COVID ended when election season started.

This is in Los Angeles County.
Aren't these in the vicinity of 95% declines in the covid death numbers? And they're permanent, so far.
Yep. What’s your explanation? Magic? ;)
