Happy Friday!
I’m posting these graphs so I can link this page to my comment replies on www.eugyppius.com.
I find the 2019 off-season rise in U.S. all-/natural cause mortality for 75+ very interesting. I’ve highlighted Virginia and North Carolina, but a similar rise occurred in a number of other states too.
UPDATE: I appreciate the shoutout from Ethical Skeptic, who has been following and analyzing related data since the beginning of the pandemic.
I wonder if flu vaccines changed substantially between 2017 and 2019. https://www.immunize.org/timeline/
In June 2018, CDC recommended a live attenuated flu vaccine to be used during 2018-2019 flu season. ACIP had voted down its use in 2016. Remember that 65+ usually has high coverage for vaccines, especially toward the older years because nursing homes make it a requirement.
