The closing: there are people everywhere in the country who've been impaired by lockdowns. You see specific states and urban areas where the damage is worst, but even in, say, rural Arkansas, some adopted the "careful" mindset, and they aren't going to change that mindset on their own.

I think it's fair to say that the mass delusion event isn't offer and/or that a lot of people are suffering from Stockholm Syndrome.

The Extraordinary Popular Delusions book is well worth reading on this front. It looks like on the Internet, it's been distilled down to the line about "men going insane in herds, and recovering their senses one by one." That isn't what it's about.

Much like the country in general, the internal climate of states is amassed with a significant population of people who be perfectly comfortable with not only a "national divorce," but also a partitioning within the states. There is never again going to be any unity in the country. Even those who would be our adversaries would find allies with many in the "blue" cities, counties, states. Peaceful, or not, it would seem inevitable that "something" is going to happen, and it never needed to come to this extremity. We are both spectators and stakeholders in the destruction of our country, and are effortless at doing anything about it. Sad.

The U.S. has always been divided in multiple ways. It's part of what makes us "us". Arguably, one of the most fractured times for the country (besides the Civil War) was the early 1800s.

What will continue to happen with these ideological divides is that people who can move will do so.

Most everyone I know in Illinois, for example, has an "Illinois Exit Plan" of one kind of another.

I don't seem to find it ... may have been the 10/31 Heidi Clark email saying thought yearly but that was not the written legal requirement.

It is telling that so many of the people in power don't particularly know the rules / laws.

Especially Ezike with the "masks are not quarantine comment this spring / summer.

Yes, that’s another takeaway from the full email set, if you read through that. They don’t know what they’re doing. Someone could argue reasonably that the thread shows the child vax must not be on their radar, because they scramble to respond to the Rep. On the other hand, except for the Director (possibly), these people wouldn’t be privy to the Gov’s intentions.

I believe IAC is required to meet at least once a year per law.

This does not diminish the sound of the emails where they appear to be trying to figure out how to mandate C19 and / or bypass rules and laws. Perhaps they are discovering the damage they have done to public health in the last 2.5 years.

Thanks, if you can find the law, please send me the citation/link and I’ll amend.

This is the only statute I saw, and there’s no provision for how often they must meet https://www.ilga.gov/legislation/ilcs/fulltext.asp?DocName=002023050K8.4

Also, if they are required to meet once a year, why didn’t they meet in 2020, even via Zoom?

The email batch suggests the IDPH Director (who was installed to his post this year) wasn’t well-apprised of any legal requirement for the committee to meet yearly.

Can't quickly find ... seem to remember seeing in the last 2 weeks from either DeVore or Grace post

detailing 2 ways to require vax for kids. Could have been thinking of something else as well.... may look over weekend.

If required to meet ... like many things JB did no consequences for not meeting requirement.
