Boy, you are over a vulnerable target for our expert prevaricators and seem to be the only person interested in exposing the scandal that would explain this bizarre "mass-casualty event." This is why we need Substack citizen journalists - to do the work the "real" journalists won't do.

Thanks, Bill.

Pretty strange that The New York Times or Wall Street Journal (a numbers organization!) hadn't done the requisite reporting for an event that occurred in their own backyard.

I agree that Substack is an excellent outlet for citizens to exercise their free press rights.

Grateful for your good work - let's keep going! :)

They've really left all the great and important scoops to us amateurs. The big stories, they won't touch. I guess we should thank them?

Hahaha! So true.

I guess it’s a good thing that many journalists are afraid of numbers?

They did the reporting they are paid to do. Propaganda by omission and misdirection is more powerful and lasting than outright lies.

Great work.

You realize what this means?

Are data on ventilator use public?

To clarify, I didn't mean her death or patient records per se. I meant time series data published by the state or some counties. It would be in a hospital-related file or COVID database.

(Don't go looking for it - was just wondering. Again, I'm so sorry for your loss.)

Thank you. No. I haven’t looked into that but it would be interesting .. here in FL hospitals followed the CDC protocol of Remdesivir & Vents. It was awful. Family had little or zero say in care. Could not get into hospital to see her. It was horrible & I pray for all the families who were forced to deal with this inhumane treatment

That it unfolded everywhere should give everyone pause to think.

Michael Yeadon said that is what horrified him...you don't put people on

vents for a tough time breathing or low oxygen. He says you give them a mild tranqu, a cup of tea, and a hand to hold....with low flow nasal cannula.

Otherwise you blow their lungs out, and they die of vent bacterial infection/pneumonia.

Someone gave the orders.

Listening to the dramatic covid tales from certain New York doctors that you had identified was like watching a film. The description of the many intubations, the hopeless of their fight with the overwhelming numbers they had to cope with plus they made sure they fitted in the personal stories of patients, one doctor started rambling about a musical connection to two of her patients who had the same tattoo on their arms, it was very bizarre. I have never heard doctors talk about a medical situation in this manner. I have seen Hollywood actors play out similar scenes on film and that was exactly how I felt when I was listening to them. I have gone from believing at the beginning that there was a novel virus sweeping around the world to now questioning everything that we have been told.

It’s very strange, indeed. Where are the genuine testimonies of doctors (employees of the hospitals, not traveling personnel) who were there? Why don’t we hear from them much?

Jesus God, Jessica, this just sent a shiver up my spine.

When you found this, it must have rocked you back on your heels....

I'm still thinking.....neurotically, about that number he just "tossed" out.

Do you think he knew what was up?

Because Catherine Austin Fitts said "To me, it seems like each country has a quota".

I've posted the clip and story on Twitter before; it's not new to me. Fantastic acting by Cuomo in a type-casted role.

In this instance, he might be doing bad math. He has the 30K quota he's been given for ventilators, FEMA says they're sending 400, and then he subtracts wrong.

When it comes to the 26K "actuals," the question became whether his comment - or another model/estimate/projection - was used to 'front fill' or 'back fill' deaths into the spike.

I'll address the vent data in my next post, but frankly, I don't think the hospital deaths number works with the mechanics of what was going on. By that, I mean with ambulance dispatches, ED visits, inpatient admits, etc.

As ridiculous as the death rise is for an alleged disease-spread event, the drop to baseline is even more suspicious. And the deaths STAY at or below baseline until the end of December. (Hard to tell on the graph, but deaths at Home actually stay elevated above baseline.

This is a city of 8M+ people. COVID "strikes" and then pretty much goes away in death data for the rest of the year? Yet the pathogen "spreads." Moreover, it "spreads" silently, with no impact on deaths until the govt declares people should stay home to "slow the spread"?

Preposterous, the whole thing.

Both Cuomo's are buffoon's. Easy to imagine he "let it slip."

How many times have you even uttered the number 26 in your life. Nobody uses 26 for anything.

He says generally "thousands" or "tens of thousands" or rounds up to 30 thousand then it's not so bizarre.

So did the guy see the receipts is the question.

It could’ve been a mental math error, even though he said he had 7K and needed 30K (which leaves a 23K “deficit” minus the 400 from FEMA).

Could’ve been doing 30K - 4K (not 400).

That said, can the administration that removes a zero be trusted not to add a few?

Am I missing something Jessicca?

Where is the usual peak in winter deaths in Jan-March 2019

And the winter of 2019/2020? Before Covid.

Sep 20, 2023·edited Sep 20, 2023Liked by Jessica Hockett

That usual winter peak was waiting for a "unique pathogen" to be catapulted over the Atlantic Ocean from Northern Italy.

You think that was just a shooting star you saw in March?

Slight correction to your comment might read- Before "Covid."

Note, too, that this is daily data. Peaks are less exaggerated in daily.

I prefer daily for many reasons--it’s less prone to some kinds of distortion, do sure. But the biggest reason is that death is a daily event. You will die on a specific day. :)

Thank you Jessica,I understand what you are saying. So did they just group all excess deaths that had already accured that winter, and add them to the so called "covid deaths" and think that nobody would notice?

Expand full comment
author

I’m not sure that’s what they did, but it’s a possibility.

It’s also possible that there isn’t as much variance from day to day, or within weeks or months, as we think. Makes one wonder if there’s some other factor in processing or at the federal level that gives those exaggerated seasonal curves.

I did recently request daily deaths going back to 2016, and going forward through 2022.

Longer timelines are helpful.

30k people on vents

x .88 mortality

26,400 dead New Yorkers

Roughly 26k

And we knew about the very high vent mortality before he said this.

As Jessica wonders.........was that a goal or a prognostication?

The CDC is turning off this "Provisional Death Counts for COVID-19" database page tomorrow. https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/covid19/excess_deaths.htm

Because it focuses on "excess deaths" the graph you see for New York City is very dramatic in showing the spring 2020 increase. It's as though a volcano threw a missile straight up into space.

Thanks. I use WONDER because it’s finalized data, as well as data obtained directly from the city’s bureau of vital stats

Also, excess is “modeled” whereas increase or simple increase above an average is descriptive, so I tend to say that.

Many of the “excess death” people get caught up in their models, which I think doesn’t serve them as well as they think :)

The term, excess deaths, struck me as creepy when I first heard of it, and that hasn't gone away. Why not call it increased mortality?

Expand full comment
author

Just call it death :) sometimes there’s more; other times there’s less.

In the end, I think we may find 2020-2023 was, in some part, a fraud operation enabled by real-time reporting efforts intended to scare people and justify all manner of actions, that were based on estimates too high for actuals to keep up with.

So, there had to be way to keep things going and (effectively) keep pushing deaths forward.

Vicious cycle.

Just a guess...
