I think the simplest motivation is also the most likely: the military and intelligence agencies lacked a mission, so they used covid. It could have been anything, but a ‘deadly’ virus from China worked perfectly. It didn’t matter there was no data to support their actions, all that counted was whether they could convince politicians and the public that something terrible was happening. That gave them a purpose.

That makes the disgrace of the public health officials even more profound. Everything the military/intelligence people said to do was the exact opposite of years of hard science indicated, but Fauci, Collins etc. enthusiastically supported. They could have said something or resigned if they weren’t listened to, but instead they joined in.

My suspicion for that is they enjoyed the idea of terrifying millions of people, just for its own sake.

Nobody has admitted responsibility, Scarf Lady Birx has some posh job and everyone else kept theirs.

I can't make a case for military/IA acting indepedently and doing so because they were bored.

‘Bored’ isn’t quite the word I was thinking of to describe intelligence and military groups which lacked a mission and found one in covid. They may have sincerely believed in what they were doing or they may have had other motives, but my default assumption is they were sincere at least on some level.

Debbie Lerman has the key dates and people here:

https://debbielerman.substack.com/p/the-covid-dossier

the summary is:

"COVID was not a public health event, although it was presented as such to the world’s population. It was a global operation, coordinated through public-private intelligence and military alliances and invoking laws designed for CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear) weapons attacks."

In February 2020 they presented covid as a national security threat. This appears to have been entirely a military operation, and once it was started could not be stopped.

There is also a very important piece about censorship, including around covid but also other issues as well:

It appears to me as if Collins, Fauci etc in public health were not the primary drivers of this but happily went along, for money, fame and ego.

The position I've outlined in my article above speaks to the aspects I agree with and the aspects I disagree with.

I've said many times that what was activated was not a pandemic-response or disease-outbreak reaction. The New York City Spring 2020 event is the best example/manifestation of that. (Search my Substack for the words "simulation" "bioterrorism" or "chemical attack" to see the times I've spoken to it. Colleagues and I said it here too: https://wherearethenumbers.substack.com/p/us-covid-19-ventilation-policy-made)

I agree SARS-CoV-2 was presented as a threat. The WHO and all affirming countries lied.

The legal basis for activating what we saw is "under" military countermeasures.

However, the military isn't what shut down the world. TPTB did not need the military to do it. That is the scary part. They used words, images, and numbers. Lies and propaganda. Not bombs. Not ground invasion.

The visible military aspects that followed - including putting up field hospitals all over the world - are a part of the THEATRICS (and killing ppl in hospitals, at least in NYC).

As far as I can tell, Ms. Latapova /Ms. Lerman have not directly addressed motive. I'm not sure if they think of spring 2020 in particular as a drill/simulation.

If I'm not mistaken, your view is fairly close to the "Pandemic Ghost Stories" view: https://www.woodhouse76.com/p/the-ghost-story-metaphor-for-what

EDIT: Here are some X posts from 2023 when I said the plans activated were not for a pandemic - and that pandemic preparedness and bioterrorism preparedness had become the same thing. From 2023+, as the result of examining NYC, Lombardy, and much else, I came to disagree with the view that (for example) the U.S. "abandoned" its pandemic plans.

I don’t think they, or anyone, can address what motivated people to do what they did. It is easy for me to imagine our spooks and security people losing their minds as they listen in on China around December 2019 and thinking they have to do something spectacular to save the world.

It is plausible, but much less likely that they saw this as a way to cash in, or enslave us, but others were quick to see the possibilities. Our pharma companies, for example, were ‘partners’ with the DoD for years because they could smell the gravy train. And leftist politicians and their voters just love the idea of denying freedom and found that covid suited their cause, just like global warming/climate change does.

Motivation is an important and interesting topic, but ultimately it is secondary to what was done, whatever the reason. People were terrified and lives ruined for no purpose. Even if the intentions were completely honest, their actions were wrong and can never happen again.

Respectfully, may I humbly suggest re-reading the article you're commenting on and contending directly with the ideas I've put forth? :)

I began by saying that no mortal can entirely discern the motivations of everyone involved. But it is not possible to study the events and not operate from some working hypothesis regarding motive. I disagree that no one can "address" what motivated people and agencies to do what they did.

Above, you seem to be operating from the perspective that the world was psy-oped by the CCP and that countries and other private/vested parties had been lying in wait for an opportunity and reacted by activating plans, etc. Am I capturing your view?

What I observe with the COVID event is that people's views about WHAT was done are strongly influenced by their perspective on WHY it was done (not to mention whether they accept the WHO's core claims about a novel spreading pathogen, etc.)

We agree "it" can never happen again, but I submit that we are going to reach very different conclusions about how to keep "it" from happening again if we are operating from different assumptions about "why."
