The role of disaster medicine in the 'pandemic'
Martin, Jonathan, & I challenge the widespread belief that the U.S. push for ventilator use in March 2020 was our officials following China's guidelines.
We assert that, in fact, ventilators were a tool that various U.S. flu pandemic and bioterrorism plans had planned for/anticipated for decades.
For me, the real question is WHY disaster medicine protocols were green-lighted in response to a newly-detected pathogen that had not even been proven to add risk of mortality for any age group. -
